These 24 Preludes by Manuel M. Ponce, composed in Paris in the 1920s, are taken from manuscripts in Mexico City. Twelve of them are versions of preludes which were published early this century, while twelve were not hitherto published. Together they make up 24, one in every major and minor key, which appears to have been Ponce's original intention. A preface in Spanish and English by Miguel Alcázar explains the origins of this set of pieces.

Now the 24 Preludes of Ponce have a new look: they have been re-engraved.
When the Tecla edition first appeared in 1981, the engraving, although very good and clear, did appear rather old-fashioned. Now we have had all the music re-engraved and it looks very good and modern.

Now (2003) newly reprinted at the original large size (12 x 9 inches). (Anyone who purchased it at the smaller size (A4) can now exchange it if they wish for the new original large size edition, without charge. To do so, send us an email (the email address is at the foot of the Tecla home page).
