TECLA EDITIONS

Tecla Editions: overview

Tecla publishes all the guitar works of Sor and Giuliani. That means that whatever work of either of these composers you need, you can obtain it from us. In particular, we publish ALL Sor's studies (including the twenty which were published by Andrés Segovia) in his Complete Studies, Lessons, and Exercises for guitar (Tecla 101), in one book, all strictly newly edited direct from the original editions.

We also publish Giuliani's Complete Studies (new).

We also publish the only edition available of all the first editions of all the 32 piano sonatas of Beethoven, in very fine reprint (facsimile) form. In the case of most of the sonatas, these are the earliest known sources, which means that any responsible pianist - especially one playing a serious concert or making a recording - would consult them.

We also publish many other works for guitar, including the only English translation of Aguado's well-known method, the 24 Preludes of Ponce, a new book on the guitar in 19th century Catalonia, and very many others. In all there are about 2000 separate compositions contained in about 300 publications.

Some of our publications are reprints, and some are newly engraved (the catalogue tells you which are which). In all cases the standard of editing is to the highest level of scholarship, so that you can always rely on the text one hundred per cent.
